Braves Tame The Lions

LA VERNE - The Braves of St. John Bosco High School (11-2) tamed the Lions of Fairfax 64-47 in a first round game at The Classic At Damien tournament.

The Braves next game will be tomorrow at 5:30 pm vs Windward(12-2).

One of many highlights in the game was Wynton Brown's put down.

This is my third year attending this tournament and every year it seems the number and quality of teams competing is larger and better, respectively.

Even those in attendance are sometimes more the attraction than the games themselves. Today, Tommy Lasorda and LeBron James were two of many in attendance whose mere presence was sometimes a distraction.

When LeBron James entered the gym, the crowd all at once seemed to spot him--and, everyone's attention was on him. I was even starstruck.

Now that my celebrity sightings are behind me, I'm ready to watch some more good basketball tomorrow--and, another basketball Braves victory!
